This Cookies Policy explains how opalLMS uses cookies and similar technologies on our marketing site and platform. Our Privacy Policy covers the broader handling of personal data.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let us remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. We also use similar technologies such as local storage and pixel tags — we refer to all of these as "cookies" for simplicity.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the site to work — authentication, CSRF protection, load balancing. They cannot be disabled via the cookie banner, but you can block them in your browser settings (the site may not work correctly if you do).
3. Functional cookies
These remember choices you make — language, currency, dismissed banners — so the site feels consistent across visits. You can clear them in your browser.
4. Analytics cookies
If you accept the cookie banner, we set analytics cookies to measure traffic, understand which pages perform well, and improve the site. We use standard analytics providers such as Google Analytics or Plausible, configured to anonymise IP addresses where supported.
5. Marketing cookies
We do not currently set third-party advertising cookies. If that changes, this policy and the cookie banner will be updated first.
6. Managing preferences
You can accept or reject non-essential cookies via the banner shown on your first visit, or by clearing your browser storage and returning to the site. Most browsers also let you block cookies globally from their settings.
7. Do-Not-Track
We respect Do-Not-Track signals sent by browsers that support them by defaulting to the "only essential" cookie setting until you explicitly accept.
